"Color Memory: Boulder Star”, 2020
hand-dyed Romney wool tapestry
46” x 46”
After learning to dye my own wool, I enjoyed making the Color Memory Series. Everywhere I looked, I started to see the landscape around me in terms of its possibility of a tapestry.
One of my favorite experiences living in Boulder is watching the star light up the dark Flagstaff foothills, especially when it's coupled with one of our brilliant sunsets that fade into violet twilight. As many in the Boulder community can attest, the star has been a beacon of hope and light to us, especially over the past few years of the world shifting in such drastic ways.
I'm pleased to release this special tapestry, made with love and wonder, to someone who will appreciate its magic.
