"Color Memory: Wildflowers”, 2019
hand-dyed Romney wool tapestry
46” x 46”
This was the first tapestry I dyed myself. I’d been using yarn from a shop near Taos, NM, which sadly closed.
I found roving from the same breed of sheep and had yarn spun at a small mill in Craig Colorado to match what I had been using.
It turned out to be a blessing because I was able to dye so many more colors and shades, which set me on a path of using color that matched what I was trying to convey emotionally.
To me, wildflowers are like beautiful laughter and included here is a photo of one of my favorites, Indian Paintbrush.
Thank you for considering my weavings.
